What is a Burial Vault? It is a lined and sealed outer receptacle which receives the casket or cremated remains and is capable of withstanding the weight and pressure of the earth above and surrounding the grave.
As you may know, most cemeteries maintain their grounds with heavy equipment such as industrial mowers and backhoes to open and close graves. As you can well imagine, this type of equipment can put great pressure and
weight on adjacent graves, causing maintenance problems and endangering the beauty of both the grave and cemetery.
This is why most cemeteries today require that the casket or urn be placed into an outer burial
receptacle. There are no state laws which govern such a requirement. While a simple graveliner may meet the minimum cemetery requirements, a burial vault will provide additional protection and strength, as well as
adding beauty and dignity to the interment process.
All Wilbert burial vaults and urn vaults are constructed of high strength concrete. Each is lined with one of two thermoformed, high tensile, high impact plastic
liners: ABS or Strentex. These materials give the vault increased strength to resist great loads. For added beauty, the exteriors of all Wilbert vaults are prepared in brilliant decorative finishes.
Wilbert
quality vaults are recommended by funeral professionals nationwide and are selected by more families than any other brand. When visiting your local funeral service provider, ask about a Wilbert vault by name.

a high strength concrete core and another ABS plastic liner on the interior. A bronze inner liner is bonded to the interior and the vault cover is completely covered with bronze. The cover and base feature Wilbert's
